A: Anything you could ride in! You can donate most types of vehicles including cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans. We also accept RVs, boats, trailers, and more!

A:In order for your vehicle to qualify for donation, here are the conditions that must be met:

  • Your vehicle must be registered in Canada
  • All major parts must be on the vehicle
  • Only the registered vehicle owner or legal representative can donate
  • Your vehicle must not have encumbrances or liens on it
  • Your vehicle must not have any insurance claims against it
  • Vehicles with body damage are also eligible for donation
  • Trailers, RVs and boats can be accepted under special conditions – contact us for more info
  • Most RVs must be dropped off

A:Donating your vehicle with Donate4Charity is easy. To donate, all you have to do is:

    1. Click the “Donate Now” tab on the homepage.
    2. Fill in all fields in the form, including the qualification questions, vehicle information, contact information, and choose a charity.
    3. Do we have terms and conditions? Does donatecars have them we have copy?
    4. We will provide instructions for towing or drop-off.
    5. You will receive an email from us confirming that we received your donation request.

A:Yes, you can donate a vehicle that is no longer running, even if it hasn’t been running for multiple years.

A:The amount on your tax receipt depends on many different factors such as the vehicle’s appearance, age, mechanical issues, etc. For more information, click here.

A:Yes, you can!

A:If your vehicle will be auctioned, please keep your insurance until the vehicle has sold. If your vehicle is being recycled, you must keep the insurance on your vehicle until we have picked it up.

A:To donate your vehicle, you MUST have legal proof of ownership. If your registration has expired, you are still eligible to donate. We will also accept a proof letter from your registry or a bill of sale.

A:No – we will come pick up your vehicle for free! However, if you are auctioning your vehicle, we will deduct the cost of towing from the vehicle’s sale price.

A:We will connect you with an agent within 48 hours of filling out the online form, and pick-up times can be discussed then.

A:Many areas in all provinces are eligible for pickup. However, we will help find an agent to pick up your vehicle if you currently reside in an area that we do not yet service.

A:It is up to you whether or not you would like to take the license plates off your vehicle. If you would like to keep them, you or the towing agent can remove them at pick-up. If you choose to leave the license plates on the vehicle, we will either destroy the plates or have them stored.

A:Once the charity has received your donation, you can expect to receive your tax receipt within 3-6 weeks.

A:To donate a boat, follow the same steps as you would to donate a vehicle (see question #3 for instructions). However, you will most likely need to drop it off at the nearest agent. We will contact you once we receive your donation form to discuss further.

A:Our submission form requires that you enter 17 digits. If the system will not accept the serial number on your boat, trailer, motorcycle, or vehicle manufactured before 1980, we ask that you add zeroes at the end of the serial number until it totals 17 digits.

A:Yes, you have the option to drop off your vehicle! This ensures that tow costs will not be deducted from your donation. If you would like to drop off your vehicle, fill out the form, and instructions for your drop-off will be provided to you upon completion.

A:Yes, you can! In the extra notes section of the donation form, please name your charity of choice. We also ask that you select a second charity from our list in case your chosen charity chooses not to participate.

A:While Donate4Charity is not a registered charity itself, we pride ourselves on helping connect donors with charities they are passionate about. Since many charities are unable to accept vehicle donations due to the lengthy process, we are here to do the work for you so that your charity can accept further donations!
