How to Donate a Used Car

Have a used vehicle that you’d like to donate to a charity? The process is simple, and we are here to make your donation experience as easy as possible. First, begin the donation process in three easy steps:

  1. Fill out all your vehicle’s information on our online form or via phone call
  2. We will arrange for pickup of your vehicle
  3. Once the charity has received your donation, they will send you a tax receipt

Once we have received your donation form, a recycling or auction agent will be assigned for you. They will come pick up your vehicle and take care of the recycling or auction process. After the vehicle has sold, we will send the money we have received from its sale to the charity you have selected. The charity will then send you a tax receipt once they have received the money.

To begin the donation process on our website, you will first need to fill out some personal information, such as:

  • Your name
  • Your mailing address
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address

Then you will proceed to the “vehicle information” section. To proceed with your donation, we will need vehicle information such as:

  • The vehicle’s year/make/model
  • The vehicle’s serial number
  • The vehicle’s odometer reading

Once you have filled out all this information, proceed to the “vehicle condition” section. Check all that apply. This information will help us to get a better understanding of whether your vehicle should be auctioned or recycled. Then we will collect other miscellaneous information from you, if applicable, including the salvage status and whether your vehicle needs to be towed from an underground parkade. If you have any other specific requirements not listed, type out this information in the box below.

We will then require the pickup address, special pickup instructions if applicable, and the charity you would like to donate to. If there is a charity you’d like to donate to that isn’t listed, add it to the extra notes section and select a second charity from our list in case your chosen charity chooses not to participate.

After you have filled out all the required information, please have a look through and verify that all the information is correct. Once this has been verified, click “submit.” You will then receive an email confirming that we have received your submission. Don’t forget to check your junk mail if you don’t see our email right away!

We will begin processing your vehicle when we have received your information. With this information, we will get in contact with the agent located closest to you, and they will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your information!
